Grants Awarded for Projects under the 2nd Request for Applications

USAID Rule of Law Project published its second Request for Applications for projects under the grants program in September 2019. After evaluating the applications received, the Project’s award committee selected two projects which were awarded a total sum of USD 86.409. The following project have been selected for award:

Civil Rights Defenders will be implementing a project titled ‘South-East European Legal Days - SEELD 2.0’. this two-day conference will gather eminent legal experts, representatives of judicial institutions, law faculties, civil society organizations, and human rights activists from the whole of Western Balkans to discuss the topic of comparative analysis of legal education in the region with recommendations for improvement;

Partners for Democratic Change will be implementing a project titled Securing Judicial Transparency and Public Trust in Serbian Courts’ during which they will analyze requests for access to information of public importance addressed to courts and their responsiveness and on the basis of this provide recommendations for improving proactive transparency in the work of the courts, i.e. for raising awareness of information seekers on the possibilities and limitations under the current FOI framework in Serbia.

Both projects will be implemented in the period from February 1, 2020 to October 31, 2020.
