Marking five years of the professional association of judicial assistants

On November 18, 2017, in Belgrade, the USAID Rule of Law Project facilitated the organization of the assembly of the Association of Judicial and Prosecutorial Assistants. This was the occasion for the Association to mark its 5th anniversary and demonstrate appreciation to other legal professionals who have recognized the importance of this profession for the efficient functioning of the Serbian judiciary. The event was used as an opportunity to circulate a questionnaire developed by the Project in partnership with the Association to measure the perception of the judicial assistants regarding their current position from both their personal and professional perspectives. The USAID Rule of Law Project Deputy Chief of Party, Dragana Lukic, addressed the assembly and presented the ongoing and future Project activities aimed at improving the position of judicial assistants, better defining their role in the system, as well as enhancing their competence by delivering a tailor-made training program.
