State Attorney’s Office Strategic Planning Process Continued

Work on strategic planning of the State Attorney’s Office that began in August during a three-day workshop in Vrsac was continued today in a consultative meeting with the representatives of this institution.

The staff of the State Attorney’s Office continued developing a draft of their strategic plan by identifying measures that will allow achieving seven strategic objectives they have previously identified. These are related to the following aspects of the functioning of the State Attorney’s Office:

1. improving the position of the State Attorney’s Office in the system,

2. improving administrative procedures for case processing,

3. maintaining continuous quality and expertize in handling cases,

4. improving analytic capacities and performance reports,

5. enhancing external communication,

6. recognizing the significance and the role of the State Attorney’s Office with both the professional public and the represented bodies,

7. strengthening internal human, technical and financial resources.

The USAID Rule of Law team and our strategic planning expert, Jarmila Bujak Stanko, facilitated the work of the representatives of the State Attorney’s Office by enabling group work and exchange of ideas on realistic and efficient steps needed for implementing strategic goals and achieving the desired level of institutional development.
