Work on drafting the new National Judicial Reform Strategy continues

Today, in the premises of the High Court Council, the working group tasked by the Ministry of Justice with drafting the new National Judicial Reform Strategy for the 2019-2024 period held its second meeting. The working group, composed of relevant legal experts, representatives of the judicial and executive branch, as well as professional associations, provided comments to the strategic framework previously presented by the USAID Rule of Law Project and its experts engaged in preparing this initial draft in February.

The meeting of the working group was opened by the Minister of Justice, Nela Kuburovic, who thanked the working group members for their efforts thus far and invited those who haven't done so to provide their suggestions and comments so that the draft Strategy would be the result of as broad a stakeholder consultative process as possible. It was agreed that the comments collected so far would be included in the draft so that the working group can discuss the revised text at the next meeting.

The USAID Rule of Law Project will continue to provide support to the efforts on drafting the new five-year strategic framework for improving the functioning of the judiciary in the Republic of Serbia.
